John Ellis
John Ellis is a CFO at Limitless Investment & Capital. He has over 30 years of experience providing financial and strategic advisory services to individuals, entrepreneurs, corporations, governments and universities. Mr. Ellis has global experience in corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, sales and divestitures, project finance, debt financing, equity financing, IPO’s, private placements, refinancing, restructuring, business improvement, operations, joint ventures and strategic advisory. His industry expertise includes energy, mining, industrial, agriculture (food, wine and beverage), real estate, technology and financial institutions.
Prior to joining Limitless, he was Director of International Business Development for the Government of South Australia Trade & Investment. Mr. Ellis has also worked for Bank of America, US Bank, Daiwa Securities, Daiwa Europe Strategic Advisors, Mitsubishi MUFG Bank, Westpac Banking Corporation, PetroVietnam, Kuwait Petroleum, Canadian Fracmaster, Exxon-Mobil, BP and Chevron. He has lived and worked in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada and Vietnam and travelled extensively in 88 countries.
Mr. Ellis has been CEO and CFO of entrepreneurial start-ups in the USA and Canada in the energy and technology sectors.
Education
Mr. Ellis earned an MBA at the University of California at Berkeley. He also earned the Degree of Engineer (terminal professional degree as an alternative to a PhD) at Stanford University and an MS in petroleum engineering at Stanford University. John graduated from the University of Tulsa with a BS in petroleum engineering.
Community
John was elected to Stanford Associates in 2015 for exceptional and sustained volunteer service to Stanford University (earned by 2 percent of Stanford alumni). He has coached 20 youth teams in soccer, baseball and basketball. He has been an adjunct professor in real estate finance at Cal Poly. He grew up on a 3,000 acre cattle ranch and agricultural farm.
